Ballet School: Policies and General Information

Dress Code & Appearance

Uniform (Girls):

  • Plain black ballet leotard (preferably long sleeves)
  • Pale pink ballet tights
  • Pale pink ballet slippers

Slippers:

  • Please ensure elastic is attached below the bend of the ankle

Hair:

  • Must be secured off the face and neck
    • Short hair: pink soft hairband or side barrettes
    • Longer hair: traditional bun, rolled French braid, or pinned-up braids
  • For ages 7 and up, hair must be in a bun
  • For 6-year-olds, a bun is preferred

Jewelry:

  • Please do not wear jewelry to class
  • Small earrings only (if any)
  • We recommend a small zipper bag inside the dance bag for valuables
  • The school is not responsible for lost or stolen items

Required Gear

Dance Bag:

  • Please bring a tote bag to carry ballet gear

Contents:

  • Ballet slippers
  • Jewelry bag
  • Water bottle

Water:

  • Bring a water bottle to class
  • Two water breaks per session
  • A refill station is available at Local Motion

Studio Rules

  • Food/Drink: No food or drink allowed in the school (except water)
  • Waiting Area: Please keep the area quiet while waiting for your child

    Save the Date: Parent’s Day
    When: June 9, 10, and 11
    Time: During your child’s regular class day and time
    Details: Students will demonstrate their movement vocabulary and dance in-studio
    Special Attire:
    Students will add a wrap skirt
    Color-coordinated hair bow
    Look for a notice regarding skirts in early spring
