Virginia Britton is a ballet teacher and coach.
Educated in both Royal Ballet and Vaganova (Kirov) styles, Virginia danced professionally beginning at age 16 while simultaneously starting her teaching career.
Of the many teachers, instructors, and directors under whom Ms. Britton has studied, the most influential were Luidmila Morkovina, and Nicholai Morosov, who were Kirov Ballet teachers. Virginia was under their tutelage while studying and performing at the National Ballet of Panama. While there, she danced in Swan Lake, Les Sylphides, Paquita, The Afternoon of A Faune, Amor Brujo, and many other small original ballets in modern and jazz styles.

Virginia danced parts in San Lake, Les Sylphides, Paquita, The Afternoon of A Faune, Amor Brujo, and many other small origional ballets in modern and jazz ballet styles.

Performing with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet in various productions at Lincoln Center, training with David Howard, many technical difficulties became easier, learning much from his training.

Later moving to Chicago, Virginia trained with Larry Long, and Maria Tallchief. Dancing with The Chicago Ballet for two years.
In San Francisco Virginia continued teaching, developing a stretch technique for dancers , taught at the Pacific Ballet, and two other ballet schools.
In Alexandria, Virginia, Virginia Britton opened The Alexandria Ballet as teacher, director , and choreographer from 1991-2012.
Virginia concentrates on training dancers in alignment and stretch as well as the artistic vocabulary of classical ballet.
